David G. Wassenberg, age 82, passed away on Thursday November 13, 2025, in Appleton. David was born on June 4, 1943, in Seymour to the late George and Olive (Beckman) Wassenberg. He graduated from Seymour High School. David married Adele Renaud and the couple spent 33 years together before she preceded him in death in March of 2025. In David's free time, he enjoyed playing pool, doing puzzles, and being outdoors doing yardwork.

David is survived by his children, Elizabeth (Cal) Reinke and Patrick (Karen) Wassenberg; daughter-in-law, Melissa Wassenberg; grandchildren, Corbyn, Caden, Ryder, Calvin, Jr., and Lennyn; former wife and mother of his children Margaret Gordon; and siblings, Roberta Sager, Jane (Art) Haas and Paul (Kathy) Wassenberg. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

David is preceded in death by: his wife, Adele; a son, Tracy Wassenberg; a sister, Carol Sievert; brother-in-law, Denny Sager; and his parents, George and Olive.

A memorial service for David will be held at noon on Saturday December 6, 2025, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Fr. Edward Looney officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home starting at 10:30 am and continuing until the time of service.
