David Edward West, 79, of Dyersburg, died peacefully Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at his residence. He was born November 26, 1946, in Union City to the late Ira F. and Myrtle Sturdivant West. He graduated from Mason Hall High School with his thirteen classmates. David retired from USEF Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Paducah, KY as a draftsman. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church and past president of the Koinonia Sunday School Class. He loved pheasant hunting and all outdoor activities related to hunting. Nancy and David enjoyed traveling, cooking and spending time together. David was a loyal friend to all who knew and loved him.

David is survived by his wife Nancy Bond West; two stepsons, John Thomas Deere and wife Heather of Millington, Wesley Bond Deere and wife, Sarah, of Caruthersville, MO; and three step-grandchildren, Grace Sullivan, Lilly Sullivan, and Conner Sullivan.

Celebration of Life service for David will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026, in the Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church officiated by Reverend Steven Lefebvre. Visitation will be Saturday, March 21st, beginning at 12 Noon until service time at the church.

The family requests memorial be directed to the First United Methodist Church Pastors Discretionary Fund, P.O. Box 452, Dyersburg, TN 38025.
