David Alan White

David Alan White, 86, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at the Community Hospice Warner Center for Caring, Fernandina Beach, FL. Born in Corning, New York, David grew up in the Village of Painted Post where he enjoyed a cadre of friends from elementary through high school. Many of these schoolmates stayed in touch over the numerous years.

David graduated from Alfred University, Alfred, New York in 1962, with a BS in Ceramic Engineering. He started his early career at Corning Glass, followed by Owens Illinois in Ohio, Indiana and New Jersey. His career settled at Columbia Gas, Columbus, Ohio as an Energy Engineer. David was an active Jaycee while in New Jersey, a Master Gardener and nine-hole golfer during his retirement in Jacksonville Beach, and later in Fernandina Beach.

David is survived by his loving wife, Carole of 28 years, of Fernandina Beach; his daughter, Carin Johnson (Bill) of Glen Allen, VA and Belvidere, NJ; a son, Christopher White (Stephanie) of Virginia Beach, VA; a son, David Patrick White of Columbus, Ohio; stepsons: Carl Perkins (Kellsey) of Whitefish, MT; and Todd Perkins (Adrian) of Jacksonville Beach, FL; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren and two nieces and a nephew. David is pre-deceased by his brother, Lewis N. White II; and his parents Lewis N. White and Anna Lee Luallin White.

The family would like to thank the staffs at Baptist Nassau, Baptist Jax, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and the Warner Center for Caring for the care and compassion they showed David in his final days.

A celebration of David's life will be held in late spring at a place and date still to be determined.
