David O. Wilbarger Sr.

David O. Wilbarger Sr., age 91, of Woodville, OH, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, OH. He was born in Maumee, OH, on June 5, 1933 to Jefferson B. and Daisy M. (Brown) Wilbarger. On May 2, 1959 David married Arlene Joy Horen at Concordia Lutheran Church in Toledo. David and Arlene raised 3 children and celebrated over 65 years of marriage together before Arlene's passing in November of last year.
David worked as an Electrician 43 years for Colgan which later became Romanoff Electric before he retired. He was a member of Solomon Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golfing, and formerly had been the Commodore for Cooley Canal Yacht Club (CCYC), in Curtice, OH. However, his greatest joy was his family, especially his grand and great-grandchildren.
David is survived by his children: Brenda (Scott) Chambers of FL, David (Toni) Wilbarger Jr., of Curtice, and Jeff (Diana) Wilbarger of Bowling Green. Grandchildren: Ryan (Hollis) Chambers, Lindsey (Sam) Melden, Branden Wilbarger, and Sean Chambers. Great-grandchildren: Norah, Aliyah, and Joanna. Sister; Sally Claytor and brother; Gene A. Wilbarger. In addition to his wife Arlene, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends will be received 10:30 a.m., with a funeral service at 11 a.m., on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Solomon Lutheran Church, 305 West Main Street, Woodville, OH. Officiating will be Pr. Alan Brown. David Sr., will be laid to rest next to Arlene in Westwood Cemetery, Woodville, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorials take the form of contribution to: Solomon Lutheran Church, or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
