David Lawrence Williams
September 6, 1936 – July 21, 2025
David Lawrence Williams, 88, of East Ridge, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and Northwest Georgia area and was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. David was a very kind and gentle man who dearly loved his wife of thirty-one years, Karen, and his family. He and Karen loved traveling in their motorhome and especially enjoyed traveling with friends. David grew up around horses and loved riding. Around 1950, David had the unique opportunity to be an extra in a Davy Crockett movie filmed on Williams Island. He dearly loved his family and took great pride in his granddaughters. David was loved by everyone who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.
David is preceded in death by his mother, Frances Williams.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of thirty-one years, Karen Powell Williams; daughter, Stephanie (Tim) Riethmeier of Hixson, Tennessee; brother, Richard (Ruby) Barbee of Rossville, Georgia; granddaughters, Abigail Wooten and Zoe Riethmeier; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Drenda Voiles; niece, Stacey (Tommy) Scoggins of Harrison, Tennessee; and nephew, Stephen (Jeri) Voiles.
The family has arranged a time to remember and honor David. Friends and family are invited to join us on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The funeral service, a time to celebrate David's life, will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Barry Wilkes officiating. Following the service, we will proceed to the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park in Rossville, Georgia, for the burial. The family appreciates your prayers and support during this difficult time.
