David Willin Obituary

David G. Willin, 73, of Hope, passed from this life Thursday, February 12, 2026 at his home.

Dave was born October 22, 1952, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Cyril and Virginia Stonerock Willin. On May 28, 1977, he married Janice Marie Stater.

Mr. Willin worked for various factories during his lifetime before retiring. He found enjoyment in fishing and hunting. Spending time with his family was important to Dave. However, bowling with his friends and teammates was his favorite way to enjoy his free time.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Janice; sons, Troy Willin, Travis Willin, all of Hope; grandchildren, Nicole Willin, Caitlin Willin; great-granddaughter, Willow McCarty; brother, Donald (Linda) Willin; sisters, Cathy (Walter) Ward, Christine (Marty) Roll, all of Columbus; Cheri (Richie) Watson of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Ed Boston officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society.
