David “Dave” J. Wilson, age 48, passed away July 11, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born on November 16, 1976, to Sandi and Gary Wilson.
A graduate of Lakeshore High in 1994 in Angola, NY, Dave was employed by the NYS Department of Corrections for 25 years, retiring last June. Dave enjoyed campy sci-fi movies, fishing, and yelling at the refs about bad play calls made on the Bills and Sabres. He was the most loving, stubborn man ever to walk the earth, and he will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gary, and grandparents, and his Uncle Don.
Dave is survived by his wife, Katharine; mother, Sandi; sister Melissa (Craig); brother Ken (Michelle); eight aunts and uncles; seven nieces and nephews; a copious number of cousins; his two beloved dogs, Lana and Archer, and countless friends.
In place of flowers, memorials in Dave’s name can be made to Crossroads House, P.O. Box 403, Batavia, New York 14021 or online at https://www.crossroadshouse.com/. A memorial gathering will be organized in Angola, NY, for a later date.
