David J. Youngberg, 84, formerly of Andover, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 9th, at the Augustana Lutheran Church, Andover.  Rev. Randall Swanson and Rev. James Sbertoli will officiate.  Burial will be in the Andover Township Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church.  Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge, is assisting the family with the arrangements.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

 

David Justice Youngberg was born October 18, 1939, in Moline, the son of Justice and Ruth (Peterson) Youngberg.  He was educated in Orion schools and graduated from Orion High School in 1957.   He also graduated from Illinois State University at Normal.  His marriage to Betty Rainey took place in September, 1971 in Milmine, Illinois.   She passed away on May 14, 2014.

 

He farmed all of his life in the Lynn Center area.  He enjoyed livestock, especially showing sheep and feeding cattle.  His memberships include the Augustana Lutheran Church, Andover, and the Henry County Farm Bureau.  His life was God, farming, and family.

 

Those surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Brandon and Kim Youngberg, Andover, and Kyle and Amy Youngberg, Geneva, IL, nine grandchildren, Eden (Trevor) Koolmees, Justice, Bailey, Bianca, Brianna, Katelyn, Cody, Junior, and Bronco.  Other survivors include step grandchildren, Kage, Kamaryn (Michael) Seabloom, and Kanin, a great grandson, Sawyer, special friend, Patty Stinson,  and a sister, Glenna (James) Sbertoli.  His parents, wife, and son, Aaron, preceded him in death.
