Mr. Davie Gaston Bledsoe, Jr., age 78, of 3231 Buffalo-West Springs Hwy., Buffalo, widower of Thelma Davis Bledsoe, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022 at his home.
Mr. Bledsoe was born in Blackwater, VA, March 6, 1944, a son of the late Davie G. Bledsoe, Sr. and Virgie Rhoton Bledsoe. He was retired from the Textile industry after working 40 plus years and attended Putman Baptist Church. Mr. Bledsoe loved gardening, farming, and sharing his harvest with others. He loved doing things for other people, especially his family.
He is survived by three daughters, Linda Brown and husband David of Pacolet, Debra Robinson of Buffalo, and Lisa Adams and husband John of Union; a son, David W. Bledsoe of Buffalo; four sisters, Della Mae Robinette of Adamsburg, Ruby Edmonds and husband David of Spartanburg, Barbara Knox and husband Collie of Cowpens and Cathy English of Adamsburg; a brother, Clifford Bledsoe of Gaffney; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Mr. Bledsoe was predeceased by a son, Michael Shane Bledsoe; a son-in-law, Charles Robinson; three sisters, Mary Sue Bledsoe, Allie Jane Collins and Ellma Jean Burgess and two brothers, Glenn and Jerry Bledsoe.
The family wishes to say a special Thank You to Compassus Hospice for their care of Mr. Bledsoe during his illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Putman Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tommy Mann, Rev. Larry Goins and Mr. Harold Gregory. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Isaac Bledsoe, Nick Bledsoe, Jesse Robinson, Ricky White, David Bledsoe and Chris Palmer.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church prior to the services.
Memorials may be made to Putman Baptist Church, 3692 Buffalo-West Springs Hwy., Buffalo, SC 29321.
The family will be at the home, 3231 Buffalo-West Springs Hwy. Buffalo.
