Dave was born on Jan. 23, 1950, to Bobbie L. Smithwick and Verna Mae (Brinkley) at Tri-State Hospital. Surviving are daughters: Dina (Clarkston), Bobbi Jo (Las Vegas) and Coleena Smithwick (Mexico); brothers Tom and Mike Smithwick; sister Laurie Fitzgerald; four grandsons, as well as numerous family members and friends.
Dave worked for the Miller Ranch for 11 years, then for Twin City Foods (five years) in Lewiston, then transferred as agricultural manager for 25 years in Lake Odessa, Mich., retiring in 2011.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Bobbie L. Smithwick and Verna (Brinkley) Smithwick. Dave will be remembered by so many.
Dave loved farming, hunting, fishing and snowmobiling.
The service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Mountain View Funeral Home 3521 Seventh St., Lewiston.
Directly after the service a gathering with snacks and beverages will be held at the Lions Club, 118 Second St., Asotin.
