Davis Ray Young

  Davis Ray Young, age 87, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024. He was born on May 16, 1937, in Hale Center, Texas, to the late Frankie Young and Clara (Springer) Young. 

  From his boyhood to his final days, Davis was dedicated to serving the Lord and others through hard work. He did all of his work "heartily, as to the Lord..."

  He raised his family and provided for many others along the way through his business, Young's Auto Center, for over 50 years. Davis was known for being able to fix anything that was broken and always had a long list awaiting his attention! He spent many hours enjoying the family tradition of playing 42. Davis attended Grace Baptist Church in Weatherford and was looking forward to teaching a Sunday school class there.

  Davis is reunited with his beloved late wife, Suzie Young.

  He leaves a lasting legacy carried on by his children; sons, Kelly Young and Paul Young, both of Weatherford, daughter, Jenny Webb of Joshua; grandchildren, Brazos Webb and wife, Jill, and Cole Webb and wife, Shelby; four great-grandchildren, Jimmy, Will, Elizabeth, and Isaiah Webb. He is also survived by his loving sister, Laverne Holloway, and her children, Jeff Holloway and Sonya Midkiff; and a loved extended family and a lifetime of friends.

  Friends and family are invited to gather and visit from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 2901 FM 920, Weatherford, Texas 76088. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 31, 2024, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas. Burial will take place at Clark Cemetery immediately following the service.
