After a long, courageous battle, on the evening of December 30, 2025, Dawn Marie (Calvert) Heeter departed this world, reuniting with her late husband, Craig, and her parents, Patty Lou and Larry.
Dawn was born June 11, 1959, in Barberton, Ohio. A graduate of Coventry High School class of 1977, her early years laid the foundation for a life centered around family, community, and cherished friendships, and - whenever possible - time spent on the Portage Lakes. After marrying Craig, Dawn embraced her new home and a deep, if at first reluctant, affection for Craig’s beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. Her warmth, generosity, and genuine care for others created lasting bonds, including within Sharon Elks Lodge #103, and formed distinct yet equally cherished families in each state, all of whom are joined in mourning by those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Dawn is survived by her stepson, Kris, and her housemate Erikk, who were sons in every way but blood. Her memory carries on in the hearts and lives of her siblings, Debbie Osborne (Greg) and Keith Calvert (Joy); nieces, Aubrey (Mayssa), Ellen, and Renn; uncle, Dave Hout (Debbie); and aunt, Joyce Philpott, best friend Kim Kleman as well as the many other friends and loved ones she touched along her life’s journey.
Dawn was always happiest on the gentle lapping waters of the Portage Lakes in the company of those she loved most. We can take comfort in knowing she is enjoying the everlasting sunshine and calm waters for eternity.
