Dawn Fosco Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Nelson-Berna Funeral Home & Crematory of Rogers on Dec. 15, 2025.
Dawn Lee (Jones) Fosco, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, at the age of 93.

Born on November 1, 1932, in LaHarpe, Illinois, to Leslie Lee Jones and Effie (Hall) Jones. Dawn was a lifelong partner and devoted mother. She married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Leonard Fosco, on October 18, 1952.

Dawn was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, her parents, and one daughter, Lori Ann Fosco. She is survived by her daughter, Lesli (Steve) Burkhead of Rogers, her granddaughter, Emily Seifert, her grandson, Matthew (Katie) Burkhead, and great-grandchildren, Henry and Betsy Seifert and Buck Burkhead, all of Dallas.

Dawn attended Woodruff High School in Peoria, Illinois, where she met Len. They began their married life and family in Peoria. Len's job with Caterpillar led them to moves in North Carolina and New Jersey before returning to the greater Peoria area, where they built their dream home. Following Len's retirement in 1986, they relocated to Plant City, Florida. They enjoyed ten years in Florida, which included numerous visits from their daughter and grandchildren, trips to Disney World, fishing and golf. Water aerobics was one of Dawn's favorite activities.

In 1997, Dawn and Len moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, to be closer to Lesli and family. There, they enjoyed many years of golf, fishing and attending all of Emily and Matthew's school and sports activities. They were active members of Bella Vista Community Church and both served on the Bella Vista Townhouse Association. One of Dawn's favorite pastimes was her love of cooking with her granddaughter, Emily. They spent many hours watching the Food Network and clipping recipes to try.

In 2017, Dawn and Len moved into the Primrose Retirement Community in Rogers, where they became part of a wonderful group of residents and a staff who became like family.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Berna Funeral Home in Rogers. Placement of Dawn's ashes will be in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Primrose Retirement Community in Rogers, Arkansas.
