Mrs. Dawn A. Kaminski, age 79, a lifelong Little Falls resident, passed away on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 21, 2023. She had her daughters at her side at the time of her passing.
She was born on July 27, 1944 in Little Falls, daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Otrupcak) Konik and educated in Little Falls schools. She was united in marriage with Michael Joseph Kaminski in Little Falls at St. Mary's Church with Father Thomas Connery officiating on Nov. 12, 1966, a loving and devoted union of over 50 years until the passing of Mr. Kaminski on June 19, 2017. Her last employment was with Meals on Wheels, a job she loved to do always going above and beyond for those she took care of.
Dawn loved being with her girls and the time spent with her family. She had a special love for her dog, Maggie. Dawn was a devout communicant of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls and held her faith close to her heart.
Survivors include her beloved family; her daughters, Julie Lawless of Harrisville, Jennifer Slabe of Little Falls and Jessica Bucenec and husband Steve of Little Falls; grandchildren, Anthony Barretta and wife Jordan of Little Falls, Alexis Barretta and fiance Ryan Fox of San Jose, CA, Miranda Roback and husband Stephen of Utica, Abby Slabe of Mohawk, Morgan Slabe of Mohawk, Jacob Slabe of Mohawk, Molly Bucenec of Little Falls, Michael Bucenec of Little Falls, Maxwell Bucenec of Little Falls and three great grandchildren, Merritt and Emeril Barretta and Clay Young; siblings, Joanne Higgins and husband Robert of Stratford, Charles Schwasnick of Mohawk (brother in law), Anne Null and husband Donald of Little Falls, Joseph Konik and wife Tammy of Little Falls, and John Konik and wife Karen of Little Falls; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Laurelynn Kaminski and granddaughter, Stevie Dawn Bucenec, also by her sister, Lorraine Schwasnick. .
The family offers their deepest gratitude to Dawn's friend, Pat Kretser and all of those who offered care and compassion during this difficult time.

Dawn's funeral will commence at 10:15 am on Wednesday, Sept. 27th from the chapel of MVFC and at 11 am from Holy Family Parish, corner of E. Main and John Sts., Little Falls where the Rev. Brian Slezak will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial. Funeral procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
