Dawn M Mackanic

Dawn M. Mackanic, 48 of Waretown NJ, passed away on August 20, 2021 after a long battle with Covid 19.
Dawn was born in Fort Dix, NJ and was raised in Lakewood NJ. She has been a resident of Waretown, NJ for over 20 years.
She graduated from Rutgers University and was employed as a Property Manager at Heritage Point in Barnegat, NJ.
Dawn was a devoted mother who guided and supported her children in their various activities. She also helped her children serving as a member of the Waretown PTA, Boy Scout den mother and Girl Scout troop leader.
She loved the outdoors, the mountains of New Hampshire, the ocean, sunset cruises, refinishing furniture, doing crafts and above all spending time with loved ones.
Surviving are her 3 children, Joseph Mackanic, Matthew Mackanic and Isabella Mackanic; her mother Fern Frank and her husband Heinz; her father Joseph Rao and his wife Doreen; her siblings Michael Salas and his wife Catherine, Michelle Pepino and her husband JR and Kristy Rao, her grandmother Gertrude Long and nephew Maxwell Salas. Also surviving are her fiancé Russell Ernst and his children Russell, Kelsie and Alec.
With respect to her wishes, the burial will be private. All who wish can attend a memorial service on Friday August 27th at 7.30 pm to be held on the beach at Monmouth Avenue, Ocean Gate, NJ.
