Dawn Elizabeth Roessle, 78, of Maumee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born in Toledo on March 6, 1946, to William Lange and Eleanor (Mayer) Lange. A woman of strong faith, Dawn was a longtime member of St. Patrick's of Heatherdowns Catholic Church. During early motherhood, she loved to plant flower gardens and crocheting blankets. She enjoyed playing card games, Yahtzee, Bunco, and puzzles of all kinds. Dawn also liked watching baseball and became a fan of the Detroit Tigers and NY Yankees.
Dawn and Larry were married on October 16, 1965, and recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. Many wonderful memories were made going on annual family vacations to various lakes in Indiana and Michigan, where the family spent many nights playing card games. Over the years, Dawn and Larry loved going to the movies and restaurants together.
Dawn is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence "Larry" Roessle III; children, Kendra (Braden Adkinson) Haupricht, Matt (Qun "Alice") Roessle; grandchildren, Zach Haupricht, Krista Roessle, Kyle Roessle; sister, Faye Lumbrezer; beloved canine grand-dogs, Rome, Mucca; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Lange, and parents.
Friends and family are welcome to gather on Sunday, April 14, 2024, from 1-5 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024, beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, for their loving care the last couple months. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Toledo Humane Society.
