Dawn Marie Schneider was born on September 11, 1960, in St. Cloud, Minnesota the daughter of James and Patricia (Reynolds) Wagner. She lived in St. Cloud until kindergarten when her and her father moved to Brandon. As a teenager she moved in with a foster family to Alexandria and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1978.
In 1979, Dawn was united in marriage to Doug Schneider to this union four daughters were born. The Schneiders raised their girls in Alexandria where Dawn worked at several restaurants in the area. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her seven course meals. When family events occurred she was the head cook.
Dawn was a person who always looked out for others. She opened her home to her two granddaughters: Jasmine and Hailey and raised them as her own.
Dawn died on June 18, 2024. She is survived by her four daughters: Trisha (Mike) Berneking; Tanya Schneider, Tara (fiance’, Taylor) Schneider, Teianna (fiance’, Mitchell) Schneider; eight grandchildren: Jasmine, Hailey, Carter, Braxton, Oaklyn, Novah, Myla, Laiken; brother, Mike (Rachel) Wagner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug; parents, daughter, Tessa and brother, Jimmy.
A Celebration of Dawn's life will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Alexandria. A visitation will take place on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 4-7 PM and continue one hour prior to the service on Friday at the Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Moe Heights Cemetery.
