Dawn M. Seaman, age 64 of Lodi, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Fountainhead Homes in DeForest, where she had been living. Dawn was born in Illinois on October 21, 1961, the daughter of Virginia Seaman. She graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1982 at the age of 21. Dawn worked for Opportunities, Inc., (dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities) from 1982 to 2021, retiring at the age of 51.
Dawn found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments. She loved watching movies, singing along to her favorite songs, dancing with pure happiness, and listening to her radio. Music filled her world, and wherever there was a song playing, you could be sure Dawn’s spirit wasn’t far behind.
She had a remarkable and unforgettable gift - an extraordinary memory for people. When Dawn met you, she wouldn’t just ask your first name. She wanted to know your full name - first, middle, and last - along with your birthday. And somehow, no matter how much time had passed, even a year or more later, she would greet you and repeat those details back perfectly. It made everyone feel seen, remembered, and important. That was Dawn’s way of loving people.
Her phone book was one of her treasures. She would sit for hours flipping through its pages, searching for familiar names. Whenever she found one - which was often - her face would light up with excitement. She would call out joyfully, “Hey Mom, I found him! Jake - my dance partner to Elvis!” In those moments, it wasn’t just a name on a page, it was a memory, a song, a dance, a connection she held close to her heart.
Dawn lived with enthusiasm, warmth, and a deep appreciation for the people in her life. She celebrated relationships in a way that made others feel truly special. Her joy was contagious, her memory extraordinary, and her heart full of love.
She leaves behind not only memories of music and dancing, but a powerful reminder of how meaningful it is to truly remember and cherish one another. Dawn’s spirit will continue to echo in every song, every dance, and every moment shared with love.
Dawn was a member of Catholic Charities Adult Day Center and Special Olympics, where she participated in bowling and track.
She is survived by her sisters, Cheryl (Wayne) Cote and Barb (Mark) Stafford; brother, David (Luanne) Seaman; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Dawn was preceded in death by our loving mom, Virginia Seaman; brother, Brian Seaman; and brother-in-law, Mark Stafford.
A Celebration of Dawn’s Life will be held from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday March 8, 2026, at the ARLINGTON INN, 226 Main St., Arlington Wis.
Dawn held a special place in her heart for every person she met. However, we would like to recognize her favorite niece and caregiver, Andrea, and her great-niece, Kaisley. The beautiful bond the three of them shared was evident to all who witnessed it. Their love, laughter, and the special connection between them will forever be remembered and cherished.
We also sincerely thank the Fountainhead Homes staff for the exceptional care and attention Dawn received throughout the last year and half of her stay. Your dedication, patience, and support meant more than words can express.
Last, but certainly not least, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Hospice staff for the compassion, dignity, and gentle care they provided during her final days. Your kindness brought comfort not only to her, but to all of us.
