Dawnieta E. (Sharrar) Myers, 68, of Grove City, passed away after a brief stay at UPMC- Mercy Hospital. Dawnieta was born to Robert E and Mary Jane Sharrar on February 8, 1957. She graduated from Cranberry High School.
Dawnieta married her sweetheart Harold “Jim” Myers on July 21, 2001. He survives at home.
Dawnieta was a member of the Church of God of the Prophecy, and she was very active in the church. She loved to volunteer; whether it was at the church, at the firehall with Jim, or with some other organization. She was well known for her church dinners and sausage making. Dawnieta looked forward to going to the Great Stoneboro Fair every year. Dawnieta was a talented singer with a strong passion for music and instruments. She loved to bake and cook, always trying a new recipe for Jim to try. She was passionate about spending time with family and friends; she would always drag the grandkids along Black Friday Shopping. Dawnieta cherished the family time spent around the holidays, even if there were burning pies occasionally. She truly loved and cared for all of her family, but her grandchildren held a special place in her heart.
Dawnieta is survived by her husband Jim, and their children, Richard (Mickie) Myers and Miranda Sweetapple. She is survived by her grandchildren: Mitchell Phillips, Tyler Ross, Taylor Slavin, Tara Myers, Tapenga Sweetapple, Emillee (Andrew) Wilson, Tyler Sweetapple, and Courtney Sweetapple. Dawnieta is survived by her great-grandchildren: Brinley, Riverlin, Mia, and Malek. Dawnieta is survived by her siblings: Clinton (Margaret) Sharrar, Bruce (Robin Marlowe) Sharrar, and Darlene Sharrar. Dawnieta is survived by her nieces; Amber (Rodney) Stumpner, Kayla (JD) Harbison, Cheyanne Soche-Kachik, and Savannah Miller. Dawnieta is survived by her nephews; Ryan Sharrar, John (Joanne) Sharrar, and Trevor (Amanda Beach) Sharrar. Dawnieta is survived by her grand-nieces: Alyssa, Evelyn, and Lilliana Harbison; and her grand-nephews: Bentley Sharrar and Timothy Neal Beach.
Dawnieta is predeceased by her parents, her sister; Areta Ewing, her brothers; Brian and Timothy Sharrar, and her sister-in-law; Stacey Sharrar.
