Dawnmarie (Sciascia) Murray, 55, of Worcester, formerly of Charlton passed away unexpectedly after being stricken ill at home, Sunday, June 2, 2024.
Dawnmarie was born in Worcester, one of three daughters of John Sciascia, Jr. and Peggy (Gillespie) Sciascia. Raised in Auburn, she graduated from Auburn High School, Class of 1986. She continued her education earning multiple degrees, one in Psychology from Anna Maria College and the other in Nursing from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She then found accomplishment, working with special needs school children, FEDEX Company, and several different hospitals, nursing facilities, and medical care facilities.
Dawnmarie is survived by two children she adored and found so much joy with Charles D. Murray, IV and Anna G. Murray: her parents, John Sciascia and Peggy (Gillespie} Sciascia of Auburn; two sisters who were her best friends, Patrice Kobeissi and her husband Hussein of Paxton, Kristen Sciascia and her husband Michael Lambert of Leicester; her lifelong friend, Kim Stone; Nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles. and cousins. Dawnmarie was married to her former husband, Charles D. Murray, III for over 25 years.
Dawnmarie was an accomplished athlete, enjoying the outdoors, running, biking, kayaking, and fitness. She was passionate about working in a special education program at the Grow School in Dudley. She was a quiet person with a huge heart, easygoing way, quick wit, and a willingness to help anyone in need. She was friendly, funny, and loved being with her children, and family. The holidays, special occasions, and family dinners are special memories for her family.
A period of calling hours will be held Friday, June 7th from 4 pm to 6 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester followed by a prayer service at 6 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Worcester County Educational Collaborative, 185 Southbridge Rd., Dudley, MA 01571
