Dean Ariel Anderson

Dean Ariel Anderson, age 86, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 10:05 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at his home. He was born July 8, 1937, in Harvard, Illinois, the son of Arndt Oliver and Alcie Ruth (Berg) Anderson.
Dean was a 1956 graduate of Harvard High School in Harvard, Illinois, and received his bachelor's degree after high school.
He worked for Journagan True Value in Aurora. He was a gun collector, a jack of all trades and a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
In 1993 he married Janice Gayle Henson, in Springfield, Illinois.
Dean is survived by his wife of 31 years, Janice; one daughter, Deana Anderson and her wife, Nicole; three sons, Steve Anderson and his wife, Jody, Mike Smith and his wife, Theresa and Steve Smith and his wife, Cherity; one brother, Paul Anderson; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Arndt, and Alice; son, Richard Smith; daughter, Mellisa Sheridan and brother, Colin Anderson.
A funeral service under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, in Aurora, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Burial will be held at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Harvard, Illinois.
