Dean M. Johnson, 90, Logansport, passed away peacefully, in the early morning of Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Woodbridge Health Campus.
Born May 31, 1935, in Yankton, South Dakota to the late Milton E. and Evelyn (Smith) Johnson. He married Priscilla Ann Arett on December 14, 1957, in St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, MN.
In 1968, Dean and Priscilla moved to Logansport to help open the Wilson Food Plant, where Dean was a hog buyer. Dean and Priscilla enjoyed their years together camping, traveling to all 50 states, and taking care of their family. He was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church.
Surviving Dean are his sons, Bruce A. (Rundi) Johnson of Oakdale, CA, and Robert A. (Kristen Nelson) Johnson of Oregon, WI; four grandchildren, Travis Johnson, Everett Johnson, Logan Johnson, Alex Johnson; one brother, Don A. (Joanie) Johnson of Sioux Falls SD; two nephews, Matt and Paul Johnson.
He is preceded by his wife Priscilla Ann Johnson, his mother and father, and a daughter-in-law, Susan Johnson.
A celebration of life will be on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 6:00 pm in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Daniel Lute to officiate.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm all in the funeral home. Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Vangen Lutheran Cemetery in Mission Hill, South Dakota.
Memorials in Dean’s honor may be made to Calvary Presbyterian Church.
