Mills, Dean Allen - age 77 of Burton, passed away at his home on December 24, 2025. In accordance with Dean's wishes, cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest, with military honors, at 11:00 AM Friday, May 22, 2026 at Great Lakes National Cemetery located at 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan 48442. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dean to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
Dean was born on May 22, 1948 to the late Donald Ivan and Marjorie (Onalee) Mills. He attended Bendle High School before serving two tours in Vietnam with the United States Army. He retired from General Motors after many years of dedicated service and he enjoyed the outdoors and he cherished the time that he spent with his family.
Surviving are his sons, Scott Mills; Dan (Rachelle) Mills; Jeff (Shasta) Mills; Bryce (Bethany) Mills. Eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Dean was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth; sister, Donna Beckman.
