Dean Thomas "Tom" Pedersen

Dean Thomas "Tom" Pedersen, age 91, of Council Bluffs, passed away October 1, 2025, at Amelia Place. Tom was born November 28, 1933, in Blue Springs, NE, to the late Earl and Wilma (Drury) Pedersen. He graduated from Blue Springs High School in 1951, Fairbury, NE Junior College in 1953 and from UNL in 1958. Tom proudly served his country in the US Army for two years. He married Doris Graham on December 26, 1958. They were blessed with two children, Bradley and Brenda. After the passing of his wife Doris in 1996, Tom married Kiyoko Dandridge on August 8, 1998, in Omaha. Tom was an insurance adjuster for over 40 years and owned and operated Crocker Claims Service of SWI for 15 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the American Legion Post #2. In addition to his parents and his first wife, Tom was preceded in death by his grandson, Benjamin; and his brothers, Leonard and Keith Pederson. Tom is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kiyoko Pedersen; son, Bradley (Melissa) Pedersen; daughter, Brenda (Donald) Harwood; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Michelle, Elizabeth, Michaela, Tiffany, Arianna, and Jazlyn; 11 great-grandchildren; stepchildren, James, Kimberly, Jennifer, and Merle; four step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation with the family, Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Funeral service, Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment, St. Joseph Cemetery with military rites tendered by the American Legion Post #2. A lunch will follow in Kottas Hall at St. Peter's Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church or the American Legion Post #2.
