Dean Edward Philipp passed away Monday, March 16, 2026 at his home in Thief River Falls, MN..

Funeral service for Dean will be held 1:00 PM on Monday, March 30, 2026 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief river Falls, MN with Reverend Kristin Ostercamp officiating. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Dean Edward Philipp was born on October 31, 1955, to Harry and Harriet (Sampson) Philipp in Thief River Falls, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Silver Creek Lutheran Church in rural Thief River Falls, MN.Dean attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1974.Dean was the owner and operator of Philipp’s Aerial Spray as an aerial spray pilot and was known for his skilled piloting abilities.Dean owned and operated several rental properties in and around Thief River Falls and a large grain farm operation east of Thief River Falls.Dean started farming at a young age with his dad and brothers, he was known for his abilities to fix any piece of equipment, his laughter and great sense of humor.His passion was his collection of muscle cars, farming the land and flying in the open sky.Dean is survived by his four brothers Darren (Georgette), Jeffrey (Melissa), Scott (Kim) and Roger (Jacki); Nephews and nieces Ryan, Jami and Robby, Sara and Beth, Harrison, Corbin and Marissa, Dalton and Dillion.He is preceded in death by his parents Harry (2000) and Harriet (2024); Grandparents John and Sara Philipp and Harry and Tillie Sampson; As well as many uncles and aunts.
