Dean A. Redenius, 68, of Ashkum passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025 in Bloomington.

Dean was born on August 31, 1956 in Watseka, the son of Bryan and Melziene (Fecht) Redenius and they preceded him in death. He married Michelle A. Mikeworth on November 10, 1979 in Ashkum and she preceded him in death on April 21, 2019. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Devere Redenius.

He is survived by one son, Jeffery (Kimberly) Redenius of Ashkum; three daughters, Julie (Joe) Kolosky of Clifton, Kelly (Jessie) Barnhill of Ellsworth, and Heidi (Brice) Breymeyer of Onarga; one sister, Delphine (Dean) Engelbrecht of Bloomington; nine grandchildren, Alyssa (Clayton Gullquist), Klayton (Kaylee McWethy), and Kohlton Kolosky, Emma Barnhill, Braxton and Bree Breymeyer, Derek, Trace, and Marcus Redenius.

Dean enjoyed fishing when he wasn't farming or baling hay. Most importantly, he lived for his grandchildren. Dean was able to fight his courageous battle of cancer for the last eight years because of his love for his kids and grandkids.

A Private funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025 with Rev. Joel Brown officiating before the Private burial at Ashkum Cemetery.
