Lindsey Dean Stribble, 69, of Newberry, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.
Born on October 15, 1956, in Newberry, he was the son of the late George Lindsey and Eula Mae Hawkins Stribble. Dean was a retired deputy sheriff with the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office after 32 years of service. He was a compassionate deputy who was proud to follow in his father’s footsteps. Dean was awarded the S.C. Sheriff’s Association Medal of Valor. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and had a passion for hunting and fishing. He was a Carolina Gamecock and Dale Earnhardt fan.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Frick Stribble; sons, Lindsey (Kerry) Stribble of Little Mountain and Michael (Allison) Stribble of Newberry; a daughter, Jamie Stribble of Suffolk, VA; a step-son, Robert Dilleshaw of Whitmire; a step-daughter, Mandy (Chris) Burge of Newberry and grandchildren, Colin and Maddy Stribble, Landan McCoig and Blake Stribble; step-grandchildren, Ethan, Jenna and Kaley Burge.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Jeff O’Dell. The family will receive friends following the service. Those in attendance are asked to dress casually.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
