Dean Charles Webb, 81, lovingly known by many as the "Ole Pro," went home to the "great golf course in the sky" on Friday, January 6, 2023.
Dean was born in Framingham, MA on June 14, 1941, and was raised in Natick, MA. Throughout his life, Dean was an athletic superman. His accomplishments started with firing a nine-hole total of 31 as a 13-year-old at Natick Country Club. He attended Natick High School where he played golf, hockey, football, and track. In 2013 Dean was inducted into the Natick High School athletic hall of fame for his accomplishments across all the sports. He attended Northeastern University on a hockey scholarship and continued to play golf, hockey, and football. In 1981 he was awarded with the induction into the Northeastern University athletic hall of fame as a "whole athlete." Dean was the captain of the Huskies football team in 1963 when they went undefeated and untied, the only year in the history of the school. The entire 1963 football team was inducted into the athletic hall of fame in 2022 for this accomplishment. After graduation from college, he coached football, hockey, and golf at a local MA high school. His love for golf led him to make a career as a PGA golf professional. He was the director of golf and ski instructor at the Balsams Hotel in Dixville, NH for a few years and then moved to the Mt. Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, NH where he spent over 20 years as the director of golf. In the winter months, Dean was the director of the ski school at Bretton Woods where he would be found teaching and challenging himself on the black diamond trails, including Tuckerman Ravine. Later on, in the winter months, he would travel south to Marco Island, FL, where he was a golf professional at the Marco Island Country Club. While there, he was mentored by golfing legends Gene Sarazen and Ken Venturi. Dean had a love for construction and built out the subdivision in Twin Mountain, New Hampshire, where he and his family lived.
In 1993, Dean moved his family full-time to Marco Island, Florida, where he spent his day's golfing, swimming in the pool with his daughters and German Shepard dogs, listening to 1950s and 1960s rock and roll music, working out at the gym, and helping others buy and sell real estate.
Wherever he went, Dean always had a word of encouragement, a song to share, and a positive story to tell.
Dean was preceded in death by his brother Allan, his mother Josephine, and his father Charles. Dean is survived by his daughters Danielle and Jessica, grandchildren Miranda, Matthew, and Lucas, brother Warren, sister, Marsha, and many extended family and friends who loved him dearly.
Dean's wishes were for any gifts in his memory to be made to Hospice.

May is memory be a blessing always. The "ole pro" took me under his wing at the Mt Washington pro shop for two summers in 1980 and 1983. He was truly a larger than life character. Great memories of playing tennis and golf together and watching him give trick shot exhibitions to guests.

I just heard about Deano's passing. I'll never forget the family times with Dean and his family, and the many rounds of golf I played with him. He was so inspiring and encouraging. I will miss him greatly. Condolences to Jessie, Danielle, and the rest of the family.

I was shocked to hear of Dean's passing. My condolences to Dean's family. He was always one of my special friends. Although it's been a while, I cherish the memories of time spent on the slopes, golf course, and apre ski together. May you rest in peace my friend.
