David Webb was born in Oakland, California on September 17, 1962 to Judi Loren, an unwed 15-year-old mother. At age 9 weeks, his mother was forced to relinquish her baby son to adoption. David graduated from Scranton High, class of 1980. Shortly after, he was honored and offered a position on the Arkansas State basketball team. After he attended College of the Ozarks, he joined the Air Force and, after four years of service, was honorably discharged. There will be services and a 21-gun salute to honor his life and service.
David held jobs that included building condos in Branson, MO, and painting (for many years) huge water towers for CGI. Dave also enjoyed bartending, singing at weddings and social gatherings, cooking for large groups, and telling long drawn-out stories. His brother, Spencer, took David snow camping - a rough climb over snow and boulders, all the way to the peak of a mountain to celebrate bringing in the Millennium.
When David turned twenty-two years old, his biological mother located him. Dave, his sister Shiela, and his bio mother spent a wonderful day together getting acquainted, looking at the Arkansas River, and wine tasting. David then moved to California for 10 years and became close with his siblings: Jeff, Dana, and Spencer. Dave then relocated to Mt. Shasta and was the manager overseeing all repair for cabins, public restroom maintenance, and snow removal.
Dave had a special place in his heart for Arkansas. Although he lived in California for 15 years, his friends in California lovingly referred to him as "Arkansas Dave" when they saw him.
He is survived by his best friend from kindergarten to the end of his life, Vanessa Owens. He is also survived by his sister, Shiela and her adult sons; his bio children, Vanessa of NM, Haley, Payton, and Jonathon; grandson, Grady; his mother, Judi Loren; brother, Spencer; and his sister, Dana.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh & Irene Webb; his brother, Jeff; and his grandparents, Essie and Loren Geoble. David was most joyful with his loyal companion, Sidney Poitier Owens Webb - his cat.
A Memorial Service is to be held at a later time with details soon to follow. Services are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.
