Dean L. Wegner

Dean L. Wegner, age 80, of Sparta, Wisconsin, passed on October 9, 2023 at home with his son and daughter-in-law by his side. He was born on December 22, 1942, to Leo and Dorothy Wegner.
December 2, 1962, Dean married Sandra Goff at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Sparta. Dean devoted his life to farming, a profession he loved and respected. He found joy in working the land, nurturing its growth, and reaping the bountiful harvests. His dedication to farming was not just a job, but a way of life. Beyond the farm, Dean enjoyed attending and participating in tractor pulls.
Dean is survived by his son, Mike (Brenda) Wegner of Sparta, grandchildren, Derek (Mindy) Wegner of Sparta, Beckie (Casey) Austin of Cashton, RyAnne (Matthew) Inglett of Cataract, Nick (Emily) Wolf of Sparta, Natasha Neubauer of Cashton, and Theran Wolf of Onalaska, great grandchildren, Evan, Adri, Matallyn, Cora, JD, Tate, Brenagyn and Raylea, his sister, Marilyn (John) Donskey of Sparta, and sisters-in-law, Kim Wegner of Sparta, and Gweneth Wegner of Mindoro, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Dorothy, his wife, Sandie, a 13-year-old son, Danny who passed away in 1982, brothers Dewitt and Rod Wegner and twin sister, Diane Wegner.
A Celebration of Dean's life will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a meal to follow, at the Torkelson Page-Smith Funeral Home, 1132 Angelo Road, Sparta, Wisconsin 54656. Online condolences are available at www.torkelsonfuneralhome.com.
