Dean Meek Williams went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at his earthly home in Florence, MS. He was 87 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery in Florence.
Dean was born on February 29, 1936, to Clyde and Lillian Allen in Sharon, MS. He served in the Korean War with the United States Army. He loved his family, the love of his life, his wife of 43 years, Mrs. Frances, and his dog. He enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and giving them to others. He loved to hunt, fish, but above all, he loved God. Dean was a jolly jokester and the epitome of a dad joke. To know him was to love him. Dean was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He will truly be missed.
Dean is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Willie Allen. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Frances Williams of Florence; daughter, Deanna Boyles (Tony) of Raymond; son, Lee Childress (Purdie) of Florence; grandchildren, Heather Freeman (Jesse), Katelyn Barnes (Gray), Aliya Rudd, and April Jarman; 5 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
