DeAnn Hawkins Woodward passed peacefully away on April 23, 2025, at the age of 83.
She was born in Denison, Texas on May 3,1941, to Adolph Thomas Hawkins and Sarah Ann (Fawson).
She grew up in Colonia Juarez, Mexico with her 4 brothers Clyde, William, Larry, and Allen along with her 2 sisters, Eunice, and Erva. She attended the Juarez Academy and Graduated from High School May 29, 1959. In addition, she was also an LDS Seminary graduate.
After graduation she moved to the United States to attend Brigham Young University. It was there that she met the love of her life, Harold Leon Woodward. They were sealed on December 15, 1961, in the Manti, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They went on to raise 6 children: Dana, Fremont, Sidney, Leslie, Kristy, and Obnette.
On May 29, 1964, she graduated from BYU with a Bachelor of Science. Shortly thereafter, she began working in the lab at the Utah State Hospital as a medical technologist. She retired there after 32 years of service.
DeAnn enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, and most of all having her children and grandchildren around her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, (Leon), parents (Adolph and Ann), her brothers (Clyde, William, Larry, and Allen), her son (Fremont), along with 3 of her grandchildren (Jarod, Jackson, and Tabrina)
She is survived by her sisters (Eunice and Erva), her daughters, Dana Woodward, Sidney (Richard) Wyland, Leslie (Spencer) Hansen, Kristy (Brett) Swanson and Obnette (Ben) Furner, and 22 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing prior from 10:00-10:30 a.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, Utah 84663.
