Deanna Marie Guffey, 74, of Casey, IL, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 21, 2025. She left this earth peacefully with her children by her side at SBL Hospice House. Born on June 5, 1950, she grew up north of Casey in Oilfield, IL. A 1968 graduate of Charleston High School, Deanna went on to obtain an accounting degree from Lakeland College.
She was preceded in death by her father, Fredrick Clinton Carver; her mother, Elizabeth Ann Carver; her sister, Brenda Gail Carver; and her brothers, John Carver, Fred Carver, Danny Carver, and Charles Carver. She was also preceded in death by her best friend, Andy Rue, and by many other deeply missed family members.
She leaves behind her daughter, Michelle (Ed) Rechkemmer of Marshall, IL; her son, James (Shelly) Guffey of Casey, IL; her brothers, Jerry (Cherie) Carver of Pulaski, TN and Ronnie Hardy of Noble, OK; her sisters, Beverly Carver of Martinsville, IL and Macky Shelton of Mattoon, IL; her grandchildren, Taylor Perisho of Marshall, IL, Chelsea Davis of Martinsville, IL, Beau Davis of Casey, IL, Kohl Guffey of Casey, IL, CJ Guffey of Casey, IL, Blade Guffey of Casey, IL, Taylor Yocum of Charleston, IL, and Stephanie Knicley of Casey, IL; her great-grandchildren, Victoria Perisho, Veronica Perisho, Bryson Comstock, Silas Guffey, Clay Guffey, and Dean Knicley; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Deanna was a hard worker and retired from TRW (ZF) in Marshall in 2016. She loved the VFW in Marshall and all of her dear friends. She lived a very selfless life, always making sure those around her were taken care of. Her family meant the world to her, and she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than life. She was the world’s greatest Granny and will be forever missed.
A time of visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1st, at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union, IL. A memorial service, led by Celebrant Curt Goodwine, will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. During the service, friends and family will have the opportunity to share their favorite memories of Deanna.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospice House or the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
