Deanna I. Spears

Deanna Inez Spears, age 85, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones at her home.
Deanna was born on July 17, 1940, in Hennessy, Oklahoma, to Glea and Charles Falkenstein. At the age of 20, she met the love of her life, Roma Spears, while he was serving in the military at Tinker Air Force Base. The two were married on December 18, 1960, beginning a devoted marriage that spanned more than six decades.
Together, Deanna and Roma raised two children, Roger and Shari. Deanna earned her bachelor's degree in accounting and carried a lifelong love of learning. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and using her hands to create meaningful items for those she loved-gifts that reflected her care, creativity, and generous spirit.
Deanna and Roma shared many adventures together, living in Nevada and South Carolina before eventually settling in West Michigan, where they made their home and built lasting memories with family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roma Spears, in 2022, and her daughter, Shari Spears, in 2013.
Deanna is survived by her son, Roger (Amie) Spears; her grandchildren, Ashley (Jeremy) Pulsipher, Hunter Spears, and Grace Crays; and many cherished great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held on January 8, 2026. Burial will take place on January 9, 2026, at Lakeside Cemetery, where Deanna will be laid to rest beside her husband, Roma.
