Deannie Elizabeth Brown

Mrs. Deannie Elizabeth Gable Brown, age 91, widow of John William Brown, went to be with the Lord peacefully at her home Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
Mrs. Brown was born on May 4, 1934, in Chester, a daughter of the late Henry Gable and Lena Mae McKeller Gable. She had been a textile worker and had worked as a CNA at Oakmont Nursing Home and was a caretaker with Union Disabilities and Special Needs. Mrs. Brown was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she was involved with WMU and a member of the Tommy Vaughan Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Brown is survived by a son, William Brown and wife Marlem of Miami, Fl; a daughter, Tammy Nance and friend, David Barnes of Spartanburg; a sister, Maebell Keas of Raleigh, NC; a brother, James Gable and his wife Sharon of York; four grandchildren, Kristy Waddell (Wayne), Elizabeth Gregory (Shannon), Deanne Brown, Melissa Diaz (John); three great grandchildren, Joshua Bradley (Emily), Joseph Gregory and Max; two great great-grandchildren, Davis Bell Gregory and Aurora Bradley and her beloved sister-in-law, Gladys Brown. She leaves behind two special friends, Tiffaney Black and Deane Rector. Mrs. Brown was predeceased by a son Daniel Joe Brown.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel, at 2:00 PM, conducted by Rev. Tim Dunn. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow the services at Union Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers are Shannon Gregory, Wayne Waddell, Benny Brown, Joseph Gregory, Joshua Bradley and Greg Black.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to AGAPE Hospice Care and Dr. Benjamin Friday.
