Debbie Abernathy Branch, 62, of Stanley passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022 at her residence. She was born on August 17, 1959 to the late Ralph Abernethy and Evelyn Cagle Abernethy. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph Dennis Abernathy and Miles David Abernathy. Debbie was employed at South Point Family Practice in Belmont. She was a member of Emmanuel Church in Dallas where her husband pastors and she was the leader of the Awana's. Debbie loved plants and watching the hummingbirds outdoors. She also enjoyed taking walks with her husband, doing crafts, Sudoku puzzles, and playing Yahtzee.
Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Rev. Sherman "Chuck" Branch Jr.; sons, Jonathan Branch and wife Shannon and Matthew Branch and wife Holly; daughter, Rebekah Digh and husband Jon; brothers, Scott Abernathy and Steve Abernathy and wife Melissa; 8 grandchildren, Nevaeh, Jayden, Rylie, Ethan, Preston, Emerson, Clayton, and Coleman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Benson Funeral Services, Mt. Holly. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Cramerton Church (Camerton Free Will Baptist Church), 426a Woodlawn Ave, Cramerton, NC 28032 with Rev. Sherman Branch, Rev. Greg Ramsey, and Rev. Reuben Cason officiating. Graveside service will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Mt. Holly with Rev. John Moore officiating.
