Debbie O'Rourke Butler, 63, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on June 15, 2023. She was born on December 2, 1959 in Memphis, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents Captain Ernest R. O'Rourke and Sarah Sue O'Rourke.
Debbie leaves behind her sister, Desiree O. Payne and her husband Jay Payne, Niece Jayme Sarah Rivera and her husband Tony Rivera, Nephew Richard (Alex) Payne and wife Jenna Payne and great Niece Caroline Carter Payne, Cousins Howard Wayne and Jeanne Niemeier, Lisa Wachter, Billy Niemeier, Kenny and Stephen Tull and her Aunt Judy.
She also has a host of dear friends, Pam and Kenny Harris, DeeDee and Jim Harmon, Jeff Butler and David Bowery just to name a few and a special thanks to her partner Bob Ryan for caring for her during all of her health problems and her most beloved dog Scrappy.
Debbie worked in retail for over 30 years and helping people was truly her passion. There was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her closest friends and family who she loved more than anything. Debbie was an old soul and there was nothing she wasn't willing to do for her loved ones. Debbie had the biggest heart, she loved so many and there were so many that loved her back. Her favorite things were to bake and cook for her friends and family, she was always cooking up something in the kitchen just to give away. Debbie was a true friend to all and she will be so missed.
A celebration of life will be held July 7th, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the home of DeeDee and Jim Harmon. Please come with your favorite memory of Debbie as we celebrate her the way she wanted to be honored.
