A memorial service for Debbie Dickerson, 66, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Parkview Baptist Church in Monroe. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until service time at the church.
Debbie was born on August 31, 1958, in Columbia, LA, and passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, at St. Francis Medical Center. Debbie was known for her exceptional cooking and baking and was always willing to feed anyone at any time. Her door was always open for anyone to stay or visit. Debbie loved teaching children. She worked for many years as an elementary school tutor for Monroe City Schools and as a PreK teacher at St. Pauls Day School. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church, where she spent countless years volunteering in the church nursery. Debbie loved her family above all else and cherished every moment with them. Some of her favorite times were spent relaxing at the beach, fishing in her fishing hole at the camp on Lake D’arbonne, and watching the Neville Tigers play football on Friday nights.
Debbie is preceded in death by her husband, Wade “Catfish” Dickerson; her father, Andrew Houston Douglas; grandson, Mason Lee Thompson; brother, Jed Douglas; and sister, Peggy Barmore.
Survivors include her daughters, Lisa Lodgen (Jeff) and Jennifer Falcon (Evan); grandchildren, Carter Lodgen, Maddy Lodgen, Kalie Wilson and Tyler Wilson; mother, Maudine Douglas; brother, Larry Douglas (Dale Mertens); sister, Stephanie Douglas; brother, Cam Douglas (Vicky); sister-in-law, Suzanne Hall (James); brother-in-law, Scott Dickerson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close family friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Neville Alumni and Friends Association Scholarship Fune, 600 Forsythe Ave., Monroe, LA 71201.
