Debbie Hanson Obituary
Debbie was born in Park River, ND on August 18, 1956. Debbie grew up in rural Lankin, ND with her parents, Harold and Carol Kratochvil, and her six siblings: Toni, Kathy, James, Donald, Janice, and Michael. She married her husband of 50 years, Greg Hanson, on June 20, 1975, and moved to Argyle, MN where she was a beloved head school cook for Stephen-Argyle Elementary School. She loved music, singing, outdoors, camping, fishing, gardening, and birding. Her warm laugh and kind smile made everyone feel welcome and loved.
She was known for her strong, positive attitude as she battled numerous health issues for the last 17 years. Despite these circumstances, she still found the joy in life and brought that joy to others.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Greg, and her children, Kasey Hanson (C.J.) and Evan Hanson (Ellen), and her two grandchildren, Vivienne and Julian.
Friends and family are invited to her celebration of life at Washburn-McReavey Columbia Heights Chapel on January 23, 2026, with visitation starting at 2 p.m. and services at 3 p.m. We will have time in the service to share stories of Debbie's life, and we hope to hear your favorite memories of her.
We will also have a memorial service in Grand Forks, ND in the spring of 2026 to allow friends and family in that area to gather in remembrance of her as well. Date and location to come. Reach out to Greg, Kasey, or Evan for further details.

My meeting you at Obert´s laundromat was the start of our very long friendship and our children´s´ friendships. Saying goodbye to my best girlfriend and kissing your hand was one the hardest thing I have ever done. You have earned your peace, my wonderful friend.
