MAMOU - Debbie Saucier Guillory, a devoted Catholic of the Mamou community, passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the age of 69. Her life, a tapestry of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her faith and loved ones, leaves an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 11:00 AM. A Burial will be held at New St. Ann’s Cemetery. Father Massie will be Celebrant over the service.
She was born on Friday, November 12, 1954, Debbie embarked on a remarkable journey defined by her dedication and commitment. For more than 30 years, she worked at JD Bank, also known as Guaranty Bank, as a Bookkeeper. Her work ethic and integrity shone brightly in all she did, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
Debbie's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. A devout Catholic, she found solace and strength in her beliefs which guided her every action. She shared this spiritual passion by teaching Catechism at St. Ann's Catholic Church, and faithfully participating in Adoration every Thursday afternoon.
She also found joy in simple pleasures that enriched her life. Debbie treasured moments spent with family during vacations in Destin, Florida—particularly relishing the sun-kissed shores and precious time together. Her love for McDonald's Coffee was legendary; she had an affinity for a large French Vanilla Hot Latte with a real straw—a small yet significant detail that exemplified her unique and endearing personality. Shopping was another pursuit close to her heart, adding vibrant colors to the fabric of her life.
Debbie’s memories will be forever cherished by her son Troy and wife, Maggie Guillory; her three grandchildren, Gracie Guillory, Aubree Guillory and Nolan Guillory; and her sister, Angela Kaye Fontenot.
She is proceeded in death by her husband, Nolan Flex Guillory; her parents, Joseph Elvin Saucier and Rose Ella Morein Saucier and her siblings, Joey Saucier and Peggy LeBleu.
At the request of the family, a Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM with a Rosary will be prayed beginning at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 8:00 AM until the time of service.
