WAUPUN - Debbie Scheller, age 70, of Waupun, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
Debbie was born January 11, 1955, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the daughter of Arthur and Beatrice Behm Scheller. Debbie graduated from Oshkosh West High School and attended UW-O where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree. She received an Associates Degree from Moraine Park and Masters Degree from Marian College. On February 9, 1996, she married David Kottwitz in Waupun. The couple has resided in Waupun most of their married lives. Debbie was employed as a microbiologist at Grande Cheese. Debbie was a member of Union-Congregational Church in Waupun where she was active in the choir and bookclub. She was a skydiver, having over 155 jumps. Debbie was a lifetime member of Wisconsin Bow Hunters and Horicon Marsh Archers. She and her husband, David, enjoyed being together at their cabin, "The Sanctuary" in Crivitz where they hunted and she enjoyed her flowers and nature.
Debbie is survived by her husband, David Kottwitz of Waupun; three sisters and four brothers: Kristine Flack of Oshkosh, Dale (Sue) Scheller of Oshkosh, Sharon Scheller of Oshkosh, Gene (Mary) Scheller of Strum, Gary Scheller of Oshkosh, Brian Scheller of Michigan, and Tracy Scheller of Oshkosh; three stepsons: Kevin Kottwitz of Three Lakes, Aaron Kottwitz of West Bend, Craig Kottwitz of Three Lakes; a stepdaughter, Tricia Lorenz of Sturgeon Bay; step-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Beatrice Scheller; and a sister-in-law, Julie Scheller.
Funeral services for Debbie Scheller will be held Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Union-Congregational Church in Waupun with Rev. Jacob Nault officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Waupun Food Pantry.
