Carol Ann Mulder

Carol Ann Mulder, age 79, of Berlin, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 29, 2025, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Berlin.

She was born September 24, 1945, in Waupun, WI, the daughter of Harley and Anna Leu Gysbers. Carol was a 1964 graduate of Waupun High School. On June 5, 1965, she was united in marriage to Dennis L. Mulder at Trinity Reformed Church in Waupun. They spent many happy years together, recently celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends. Denny's job took them to several WI cities before finally settling in Berlin in 1977, where they raised their son and daughter, Randall and Michelle.

Carol stayed home with the kids until she began working with Sentry Insurance agent, Les Coates, eventually retiring from the office of Peter Mauel CPA, after 20 years. After retiring, she and Denny enjoyed wintering in south Texas for 18 years. Carol had many interests and hobbies over the years. She enjoyed bowling, traveling to street rod shows, crocheting, knitting, reading, camping, cross-stitching, and was an avid game player. Often times, she could be found playing bridge at the Senior Center or hosting game get togethers at home. Carol loved watching the birds attracted by her many feeders and spoiling her granddogs with too many treats.

She was a loving partner, mother, grandmother, and friend, and will be missed dearly by those she leaves behind. Carol is survived by her husband, Denny; son, Randy Mulder; daughter, Shelly (Steve) Disterhaft; granddaughters, Alyssa Potratz and Kayla Potratz; step-grandchildren, Corey (Emma) Disterhaft and Rachel Disterhaft; sister, Shirley Pluim; brother-in-law, Gary (Vicki) Mulder; sister-in-law, Cynthia (Gary) Stiemsma; and many cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; mother- and father-in-law, Dorothy and Harry Mulder; brother-in-law, Lou Pluim; niece, Julie Smith; and lifelong friend, Dian Kuehn.

A gathering of family & friends will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Berlin United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Sang You officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. A memorial fund has been established in Carol's name.
