Hildred Florence Loomans, 88, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026 at the Beaver Dam Care Center.
Hildred was born on June 26, 1937, in the Waupun township, to Henry and Bernice (Sanders) Loomans. She attended Waupun High School and was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Waupun.
Hildred was an avid reader until her vision failed her. She also had a great collection of videos that she really enjoyed watching. One of her favorites was definitely her “Little House on the Prairie” series. Hildred was always ready to help anyone that was in need and spent many hours caring for others. She will forever be remembered by many great-nephews and nieces for her scavenger hunts and for her famous two-dollar bills that she often gave as birthday gifts.
Hildred is survived by two sisters: Alice Posthuma and Sue Davenport, both of Waupun; one brother, Dr. Henry (Robin) Loomans of Suring, WI; and many nephews, nieces, and other family members.
Hildred was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Bernice; four sisters: Helena (Barney) Vande Kolk, Pearl (Milton) Vande Zande, Evelyn (Ken) DeVries, and Elaine (Dean) Huizenga; and her brother-in-law, Clarence Posthuma.
Funeral services for Hildred will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. Kurt Ritsema officiating. Visitation will take place on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. time of service. Burial will take place at Oak Mound Cemetery in the town of Alto.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Beaver Dam Care Center for their wonderful care.
