Debbie Lyn Schreiber, age 65, of Salem, Indiana, passed away peacefully on the morning of October 24, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Debbie was known by everyone and a stranger to none. Her friendliness, humor, and honesty made her unforgettable to all who crossed her path. She had a way of making people feel at home, often with a quick joke, a warm hug, or a piece of advice that was as straightforward as she was.
Strong-willed and bull-headed in the best of ways, Debbie stood firm in her beliefs and fiercely protected those she loved. Yet behind that toughness was a heart full of compassion, loyatly, and laughter that she freely shared with family, friends, and even the occasional stranger who soon became a friend.
She will be remembered for her unshakeable spirit, her quick wit, and the countless memories she created with those lucky enough to know her. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her love and laughter will live on in every story told, every smile shared, and every life she touched.
We all know she's at peace, sharing laughs and love with those she missed so much, but watching over all.
Debbie was born March 18, 1960, in Blytheville, Arkansas, the daughter of James and Barbara Sears Farmer. She was an employee of the Washington County Auditor's Office for 23 years.
She is survived by her husband: Robert Schreiber. They were married September 25, 1999. She is also survived by her children: Misty Wells (Eric) of Salem, Scott Campbell (Melissa) of Salem and Jason Campbell (Tonya) of Henryville, two sisters: Genine Crosby (Howard) of Arkansas and Rhonda McLevain of Kansas, and five grandchildren: Corey Wells (Cody), Tirzah Hacker, Natalee Wells, Abbigail Campbell and Gavin Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother: James Ashley Farmer and a sister: Nadine Farmer.
In accordance with her wishes, services will be held Wednesday, October 29 at 1PM at Weathers Funeral Home with Sid Dye officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 28 from 4-8PM and Wednesday, October 29 from 11AM-time of services.
