Debbie Sue Wood (nee Winbury) died peacefully August 25, 2025, at Washington Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.

She was born April 1, 1957, a joke she could never live down! She was reared in East End, AR, in the house her father William Robert "Billy Bob" Winbury still lives in today. She was graduated from Sheridan High School, and soon after married and gave birth to two boys, Joshua Allen Senteney and Christopher Jacob Senteney, who survive her. The family was abandoned by the father of the children soon after Christopher was born.

She struggled to raise the two boys on her own, working full time for Handleman Company in Little Rock. Then her aunt, Lawonna Slaughter, set her up for a date with her future husband, Jeffrey Lenore Wood. The couple shared a love of country music and dancing and soon formed a close bond. Married in 1985, the family of four purchased a home in East End. But later Jeff's work took them to Hot Springs for two years, and then in 1989 to Northwest Arkansas.

Debbie loved living in Springdale, where the family settled. She and Jeff joined the Country Dance Club, and Debbie served several years as president of the club. Over some 20 years, Debbie and her fellow instructors taught several thousand people in Northwest Arkansas to do the two-step and many different line dances.
Later Debbie joined Jeff in his Springdale business, Marketing Partners Advertising Inc. She handled all the finances at the company for many years.

In the summer of 2012, Debbie fell ill with a very severe form of Lupus, an autoimmune disease. Gradually over the next 13 years the disease took its toll, and Debbie slowly withdrew from the very active life she loved and eventually succumbed to the ravages of that disease.

In 2015 Debbie decided to join her husband in the Catholic Church and was received into the Church on Holy Saturday in 2016. The Church brought her tremendous peace, even though the miracle she often prayed for never came through. For the past four years, she helped teach the parish's young Catholics the beliefs of faith. If your reward in Heaven is measured by the weight of the crosses you bore in this life, Debbie will certainly be sitting close to the King of King's table.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gutherine Adair Winbury. She is survived by her father, husband and sons, her aunt, her grandsons Jacob and Carver Senteney, and her brother, Eddie Winbury.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, September 1, 2025 at Heritage Funeral Home in Springdale. Rosary led by Deacon Dan Cashman will start at 6:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at St Raphael Catholic Church. Burial will
be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Salem Cemetery in East End, Arkansas.
