Deborah Elizabeth "Debbie" Calvert, 73, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Debbie was born on June 10, 1952, in St. Louis, the daughter of Howard J. and Bessie M. (Houston) McCoy.

Survivors include: son, Joshua Williams of Richmond; four grandchildren: Jordan Smith, Courtney Williams, Gentrey Williams, and Paizley Williams, all of Richmond; two great-grandchildren, Isabella Smith and Daxon Larkin, both of Richmond; other extended family and her many friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Debbie was born in St. Louis and moved to the Richmond area as a child, where she was raised and educated. She graduated from Richmond High School and went on to work various jobs throughout her life but was best known and loved as a local bartender. Over the years, she became a familiar face at many of Richmond's establishments, including The Dukes and The Hideaway, where she built lasting friendships with both coworkers and customers alike.

Outside of work, Debbie loved spending time outdoors and had a true green thumb. She enjoyed growing and tending to her plants and found joy in sharing that love of nature with others. Above all, she adored her grandchildren, who fondly remember her as always being up for an adventure-whether it was a simple outing or a spontaneous road trip, Grandma never said no to fun. Debbie's vibrant personality and genuine friendships made a lasting impact on many, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Debbie Calvert Memorial Fund. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.

A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Please remember to share your memories of Debbie with the family by visiting www.thurmanfuneralhome.com.
