Deborah Jane Ecott, 75, of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026.

The daughter of Thomas Mortimer and Margaret Elizabeth Lyons (née Riggio), Deborah Lyons was born in Albertson, NY, and completed her Bachelor of Social Work at Southern Connecticut State University in 1972. Debbie moved to Florida in 1974, where she dedicated her career in support of developmentally disabled individuals throughout the Treasure Coast until her retirement in 2014.

Debbie was an avid lifelong reader and cared deeply about health and wellness. In her retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling throughout the country in their camper, visiting many state and national parks.

She is survived by her devoted husband Christopher Ecott; her daughter, Shannon Ross and her husband Jeff Lundy of New York City; her brothers Keith (Ann) Lyons, Jensen Beach, FL and Todd (Gail) Lyons, Elijay, GA, step-daughters Cheryl (Andres) Guerreo, Kimberly (Jack) Rose and Stephanie (Sergio) Alcazar, seven step-grandchildren, and three nieces.

Debbie was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Lisa O'Malley, the father of her daughter (Shannon) Charles Ross, and nephew Chase O'Malley.

Donations can be sent to Treasure Coast Hospice at 1201 SE Indian Street in Stuart, FL 34997 or ARC of the Treasure Coast at 2001 South Kanner Highway Stuart, Florida 34994.
