Deborah Kay Ellington, aged 80 of Sandy Springs, passed away Saturday January 4, 2025
She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Ray and Mary Katherine Sullivan, sister, Candace Sue (Candi) Monroe, brother Floyd Ray (Butch) Sullivan Jr. and stepson D. Jeff Ellington.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Douglas Jeffares Ellington, Sr, and her son Ryan S. Steele, sister and brother-in-law, Cherie and David Matthews, many nieces and nephews, and her loved 'grand buddies' Alex and Charlie Moyer.
During Deborah's long and fulfilling life, she enjoyed her occupation as a hostess in the American Airlines Admirals club Chicago. Later she was the Assistant to the General Manager of her beloved Kansas City Chiefs. After retirement, she loved baking, reading and traveling with her friends, family and husband. She was particularly fond of her memories with her two sisters when they traveled as a trio.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday January 25,2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Scot Ward Funeral Services at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be submitted online at www.scotward.com. Scot Ward Funeral Services, 699 American Legion Rd., Conyers, Ga, 770-483-7216.
In lieu of flowers please send a donation in Deborah's name to the Alzheimer's Association with the hope of helping to find a cure of the diseases that takes our loved ones.
