Deborah Lynne Gunderman, (Dr. Deb), 59, went home to the Lord on January 17, 2012. Dr. Deb was surrounded by friends and loved ones as she made her journey home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wanda and Marlin Gunderman, and is survived by sister, Deanne (John) Peer (IN); sister Christine Gunderman (WY); cousin Carol (John) Dumpert (NE); cousin Judith (Merle) Straw ((NH); niece Lisa(Jean-Françios) (Quebec City, Canada); nephew Kenny (Katie) Gunderman (MN); and 2 great-nieces and 2 great-nephews. Dr. Deb graduated from the University of Iowa, received her MSW from Washington University, St. Louis, and was awarded her Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Counseling from Trinity Southwest University, Albuquerque. She is the Founder, President, and Chaplain of Walking in the Way, Inc., a Workplace Ministry providing chaplain services to the employees and owners of businesses in the Albuquerque and New Mexico area as well as maintaining a website that includes a weekly e-mail message. She was an Ordained Chaplain with the International Fellowship of Chaplains (IFOC) and a Certified Community Chaplain with Community Chaplains of America. Deborah was active in Christ Community Fellowship church, Fellowship of Companies for Christ International, and the Albuquerque Prayer Transformation Council. Deborah enjoyed reading, music, and loved her cat, Cali. She was passionate about the spiritual growth of women and committed to walking in the way with God. Deborah was a gifted writer, speaker, and planner of events and seminars. Her many friends and acquaintances know of her compassion and loyalty. Dr. Deb will live in our hearts, even though she is no longer with us in this life. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ Community Fellowship church, 5908 Anaheim Avenue NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87113. Memorials may be sent to her church at PO Box 94196, Albuquerque, NM 87199-4196.
