Deborah Hurta-Miller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stroud Funeral Home on Dec. 4, 2025.
Deborah Hurta-Miller, 67, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 28, 1958, Deb lived a life defined by unconditional love, strength, and devotion to those she loved and cherished.

Deb was married to the love of her life, Ronnie Miller, for 45 years. Together, they shared a bond that was truly extraordinary - a love story that inspired everyone around them. Their life together was filled with laughter, loyalty, and countless treasured memories.

Deb and Ronnie proudly served the Brazoria County community for over four decades through their family business, A-1 Comfort Systems. For many, Deb was the familiar, kind voice who answered the phone and made sure service calls were taken care of. Generations of customers will remember her warmth, patience, and the personal touch she brought to every call. She was not just the heart of her home, but also the heart of the company, helping countless families and neighbors through the years.

Deb was a proud and loving mother of seven: Michael Miller, Tammy Miller-Cruz and her husband Jose, David Thompson, James Miller, Ronnie Hunter and his wife Ahna, Justin Hunter and his wife Michelle, and Amy Miller-Morris and her husband Sean. She devoted her life to her family, always ready with an open heart, a listening ear, and wisdom only a mother could give.

Her joy multiplied with each grandchild. Deb was "Nana" to Kyle, Kaylen, Kaitlyn, Terry and his wife Macey, Ahna and her husband Corey, Mickeala, Ethan, Brendan, Mason, Damian, Peightyn, Rebekha, Kaylee, Kaden, Ryanna, Kentleigh, and Lexi, and "Great-Nana" to Carter, Kyler, Kameron, Beaux, Colt, and Aurora. She loved them fiercely and treasured the moments she was able to be part of and help deep pride and joy for all of the.

Deb is also survived by her brothers, Ed Hurta III and his wife Dawn, Robert Hurta Sr. and his wife Elicha; her nephews Earl Wayne McCarroll and his wife Tiffany, Shanon McCarroll and his wife Januari, Ed Hurta IV and his wife Jenni, Robert Hurta Jr.; and her nieces Jahala Leal and her husband Jonothan, Shaylnn Hurta Owen and her husband Colton, and Cheyenne Hurta. She also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended loved ones who will forever hold her memory close.

She is preceded in death by her father, Edward Charles Hurta Jr.; her mother, Ima Delores King; and her sister Sarah Roderick.

Deb's warmth, loyalty, and gentle spirit touched every person who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved deeply, gave freely and created a home where everyone felt welcome. Her legacy will live on through the family she adored, the business she helped build, and the countless lives she reached simply by answering the phone and offering help with a smile. Her presence in this world was a blessing, and she will be missed beyond measure.
